How should I pray for the appearance (of the Mahdi)?

To pray for the appearance, sincerely and with faith, implore God and express your requests to Him.

Quranic Answer

In the Holy Quran, there is an indirect encouragement for believers to pray for the appearance of God's representative (the Mahdi). While the Quran does not explicitly mention the Mahdi's appearance, it encourages believers to be steadfast in prayer and supplication. Surah Al-Imran, verse 139 states: "And do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are [truly] believers." This signifies that believers should keep God in their hearts and seek His help at all times. To pray for the emergence of the Mahdi, one should do so with a sincere heart and pure intentions, invoking God’s support. For instance, one could engage in the Salat of Need and humbly implore the Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance). In various narrations, it is emphasized that believers should keep the Mahdi in their thoughts and pray for his emergence. It has been reported from Imam Ali (peace be upon him) that it is essential to offer good prayers and remain patient while waiting for his reappearance. These prayers can include requests for divine mercy and blessings for the time of appearance. Also, praying for the correction of society and rooting out tyranny and corruption is part of these supplications. Importantly, prayers should be made with faith and certainty in God’s power, and one should not lose hope. In daily life, believers can focus on establishing prayer and performing righteous deeds to draw closer to the time of appearance.
