Spending wealth for the sake of God brings blessings and divine rewards and should come from the best possessions.
According to the Quran, spending our wealth for the sake of God holds significant importance. In Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 261, Allah presents a beautiful analogy, saying, 'The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed of grain that sprouts seven ears, and in every ear there are a hundred grains.' This verse shows that donating for the sake of Allah not only yields spiritual rewards but also brings blessings and abundance in this world. Additionally, in Surah Al-‘Imran, verse 92, it states: 'Never will you attain righteousness until you spend of that which you love.' This serves as a reminder that charity and spending should come from our best and most cherished possessions. Being in harmony with wealth must go hand in hand with our devotion to God. In Surah Al-Mu’minun, verse 60, it mentions, 'And those who spend in Our cause will have a great reward.' Hence, spending in the way of Allah not only benefits others but also purifies one’s soul and brings him closer to the Creator. Ultimately, we should remember that spending can take many forms—from financial assistance to helping the needy, to investing in charitable causes. Thus, we must always keep in mind that our wealth is a trust that should be spent in the way of Allah.
The example of those who spend their wealth in the cause of Allah is like a seed of grain that sprouts seven ears; in every ear, there are a hundred grains. Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is All-Hearing and All-Knowing.
Never will you attain righteousness until you spend of that which you love. And whatever you spend, indeed, Allah is Knowing of it.
And those who spend in the way of Allah are the truly successful.
One day, a man was helping the needy from his wealth. He thought that his actions might be in vain, but suddenly, an incident occurred. He encountered a young man who was in dire need of help. When he helped the young man, the young man said that his prayers had been answered and that Allah had blessed him. This man learned that every drop given for the sake of God is like a seed planted in the ground that will yield fruits in the future.
