How to attain the love of God?

To attain the love of God, we must have faith, do righteous deeds, and always remember Him.

Quranic Answer

To attain the love of God, we must take steps that are outlined in the Holy Quran. The first step is to have faith in God and to recognize both sins and virtues. In Surah Al-Imran, verse 31, Allah says, "Say, 'If you love Allah, then follow me, so Allah will love you and forgive your sins.'" This verse clearly indicates that following the Prophet and adhering to divine commands is one of the ways to achieve God's love. Moreover, in the Quran, specifically in Surah Al-Ma'idah, verse 54, it states that Allah loves those who have believed and do righteous deeds. Hence, alongside faith, good deeds and kindness in our interactions are crucial. For instance, helping the needy, giving charity, and treating others well all demonstrate love for God. Another important factor is the remembrance of God. In Surah Ar-Ra'd, verse 28, it is mentioned: "Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest." Therefore, we ought to strive to remember God always, turning to Him in prayer and supplication. Finally, love for God is intertwined with love for His creations. When we show love to others and help them flourish in their lives, Allah will likewise bestow His love upon us. Thus, it can be concluded that love for God stems from righteous deeds, remembering Him, following His prophets, and showing kindness to others, all of which should be adhered to.
