To become beloved to God, we must adhere to religious and ethical principles and follow the Prophet.
Becoming beloved to God is one of the great aspirations of every believer. Allah has shown us in the Quran that to achieve this status, we must adhere to moral and religious principles. In Surah Al-Imran, verse 31, Allah says: 'Say, if you love Allah, then follow me, and Allah will love you and forgive your sins; and Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.' This verse implies that if we truly love God, we must follow the Prophet. In this regard, acting upon the commandments of religion and cultivating good morals can lead to our beloved status with Allah. Additionally, performing charitable acts and serving people are also significant factors. In Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 177, we are reminded that being righteous and maintaining piety can deepen our relationship with Allah. Loving others and nurturing a spirit of sacrifice and altruism can further lead to God’s affection. Ultimately, invoking and beseeching Allah is one of the ways to draw closer to Him and win His love. Patience during trials and difficulties in life, along with reliance on Allah, can place us on a path that satisfies and pleases Him.
Say, 'If you love Allah, then follow me, and Allah will love you and forgive your sins; and Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.'
Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but [true] righteousness is in one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the Angels, the Book, and the Prophets and gives his wealth, in spite of his love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves and [who] establishes prayer and gives zakah and [who] fulfill their promise when they promise and [who] are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous.
One day, a young man named Sajjad was sitting in a corner, pondering about his life. He thought to himself, 'How can I become beloved to God?' Suddenly, he recalled the verses of the Quran and realized how Allah speaks about love and following His Prophet in His book. Sajjad decided to dedicate more of his time to prayer and reading the Quran, and to do good deeds for the less fortunate. After some time, he felt that he was getting closer to God day by day, and his life was filled with blessings.
