To perform good deeds for the sake of God, sincerity in intention and honesty in action are essential, along with helping others.
To perform good deeds for the sake of God, it is important to have a sincere and assured intention. In the Holy Quran, Allah explicitly states that our actions must be done with a pure intention for Him. In Surah Al-Bayyina, verse 5, it says: 'And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion.' This clearly points out that servitude and worship must be with a pure intention only for Allah. This means that before performing any good deed, we should ask ourselves whether this action is for the sake of pleasing Allah or not. In addition to intention, good deeds should be performed with honesty and integrity. In Surah Al-Imran, verse 162, it states: 'Is the one who seeks the pleasure of Allah like the one who has incurred the wrath of Allah?' This verse emphasizes that the action should be in accordance with the pleasure of Allah. Another important aspect of doing good is a sense of responsibility and helping others. The Quran invites us to do good and be kind to others. In Surah Al-Mu’minun, verse 96, it states: 'Repel not evil with evil but with what is best.' This point provides an example of good ethics that we must consider in our daily lives. Finally, we should not forget that every good deed can be accompanied by supplication and seeking forgiveness. We should pray to Allah to place the best intentions in our hearts and guide us on the right path.
And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion.
Is the one who seeks the pleasure of Allah like the one who has incurred the wrath of Allah?
Repel evil with what is best.
Once upon a time, there was a man named Siraj who was always in search of God's pleasure. Siraj would perform good deeds every day, from helping his neighbors to bringing joy to children's hearts. He always made sure his intentions were pure for good deeds and would say, 'Any deed done for God's sake brings me peace.' As Siraj noticed the positive changes in his life, he told his friends, 'If we always do good and remember God, not only will we be satisfied, but God will also be pleased with us.'
