Purity of heart and sincere intentions hold special significance and impact the value of actions.
In the Holy Quran, the significance of a pure heart and honest intentions is clearly articulated. In Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 225, it says, 'Allah is All-Aware of what you intend.' This verse highlights that a person's intention behind their actions is critically important, and if their intention is pure, their actions hold greater value. Moreover, in Surah Al-Imran, verse 30, Allah says, 'On that Day, every soul will be compensated for what it has earned...' This warns us that our deeds will be evaluated based on our intentions, and the purity of the heart can greatly affect our actions. Additionally, the sayings of the Prophet and Imams emphasize this notion, stating that the heart is the seat of intentions, and any actions performed without sincere intention will not yield favorable results. Thus, if a person’s heart is pure, their deeds will also be more accepted. Therefore, Muslims should pay special attention to purifying their hearts and intentions, while also performing righteous deeds.
And do not impose upon us a burden like that which You imposed upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.
On the Day every soul will be compensated for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged.
