Reliance on God is trust and entrusting affairs to Him, providing believers with peace and assurance.
Reliance, or Tawakkul, is a significant concept in Islam, signifying trust in God and entrusting our affairs to Him. The Holy Quran emphasizes Tawakkul as a characteristic of believers. In Surah Al-Imran, verse 159, Allah says, "And you are truly on the best of standards" indicating reliance and trust in Him. Tawakkul helps us remain steadfast in the face of life's challenges and assures us that God is our supporter in every situation. Additionally, in Surah At-Talaq, verse 3, it states, "And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, He will suffice him," clearly indicating that anyone who relies on God will be shielded from difficulties. These verses remind us not to carry the weight of life solely on our shoulders but to depend on God and seek His assistance. Tawakkul provides us with peace, confidence, and hope, especially during challenging times, reminding us that we are never alone and that God is always with us.
And you are truly on the best of standards.
And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, He will suffice him.
Indeed, Allah is with those who fear Him and those who are doers of good.
One day, a young man named Ali decided to completely rely on God for every aspect of his life. He would thank and praise God daily, entrusting every seemingly small problem to Him. Ali soon realized that he had attained greater peace and patience in his life. One day, a friend asked him, "How are you so calm?" Ali smiled and replied, "Because I know that God is always with me and never leaves me alone."
