Parents' prayers, due to their deep love, are filled with goodness and blessings and should be taken seriously.
The prayers of parents are a significant aspect of life for Muslims, and the Holy Quran emphasizes their importance clearly. In many verses, parents are portrayed as noble figures deserving of respect, and their prayers for their children can profoundly affect their destinies. In Surah Al-Isra, verse 23, Allah explicitly states, 'And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment.' This reminds us to treat our parents well and not to forget them in our prayers. By honoring the prayers of our parents, we show our respect for them and acknowledge their constant concern and care for us. Parents’ love is often unconditional, and their prayers are filled with blessings and compassion. Additionally, Surah Luqman, verse 14, reminds us to be thankful for our parents, and this gratitude naturally extends to their prayers for our well-being. Therefore, we should take our parents' prayers seriously, viewing them as a source of mercy and goodness in our lives.
And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment.
And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them. To Me is your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.
One day, a young man named Hassan was reflecting on his parents' prayers. He recalled the Quranic verses about the significance of their prayers in his life. He decided to pray every day for his parents’ health and happiness, asking them to pray for him, too. After some time, Hassan felt that his life improved, bringing him greater peace.
