Allah is aware of all human suffering, including hidden sorrows, and is always by our side.
In the Holy Quran, Allah explicitly addresses His perfect knowledge and constant awareness regarding every facet of human existence, highlighting that our struggles and tribulations do not go unnoticed. The intricacies of our lives, filled with moments of anguish, doubt, and despair, are intimately known by our Creator. One profound verse that encapsulates this sentiment is found in Surah Al-Muzzammil, verse 20, where Allah states: 'Indeed, your Lord knows that you stand [in prayer] almost two-thirds of the night and occasionally half of it and occasionally a third of it, and [so do] a party of those with you.' This passage is a reminder of Allah's omniscience. It echoes the understanding that Allah is aware of our tireless efforts, our sacrifices in the quiet of the night, and the struggles that we may be grappling with deep within our hearts. The significance of this verse cannot be understated. It illustrates that prayer, especially during the stillness of the night, is noticed and valued by Allah. It symbolizes a relationship built on sincerity and devotion, where individuals strive to connect with their Creator despite their personal battles. For many believers, this acknowledgment serves as a source of comfort and motivation to persist in their spiritual journeys, knowing that their efforts are seen and appreciated. Furthermore, in Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 153, Allah tenderly advises the believers: 'Seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.' This verse beautifully emphasizes the duality of patience and prayer as means of obtaining solace and support from the Divine. It instills the comforting assurance that God is not merely a distant observer of our pain and trials; rather, He is actively present and supportive, especially during moments of hardship. By urging believers to turn to Him in their times of distress, Allah reassures His followers that the presence of trials and tribulations is a part of life, yet they are not alone in facing them. This divine companionship fosters resilience and hope, encouraging individuals to navigate their challenges with unwavering faith. Additionally, another noteworthy verse is found in Surah Al-An'am, verse 60, where Allah expounds on His knowledge by stating that He knows 'what is hidden' and 'what is declared.' This profound observation signals that not only does Allah see our external expressions of struggle, but He also comprehends the internal battles we may conceal. In a world where individuals often wear masks, hiding their true feelings behind smiles or busy lives, this verse acts as a gentle reminder that our hidden anguish is laid bare before Allah’s gaze. It emphasizes the intimate connection between the individual and their Creator, where every tear shed in silence and every silent scream in despair is understood by Him. The Quran collectively encourages us to develop an unwavering trust in Allah and to reach out for His assistance during our most tumultuous times, for He stands as our closest and most compassionate helper. The spiritual framework laid out in the Quran serves as a guiding light for believers, prompting them to seek solace and understanding in their relationship with Allah amidst suffering. The recognition of Allah's continual awareness serves not only as a source of reassurance but also as an impetus for individuals to cultivate patience and resilience. Life's challenges are inevitable, and the burden of hidden sorrows can often feel overwhelming. Yet, the Quran encourages believers to embrace the idea that their struggles hold significance within the greater tapestry of existence. Each pain and each moment of despair contributes to an individual’s spiritual evolution. By enduring hardships with patience and faith, believers not only seek Allah’s assistance but also develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their purpose in life. The journey through sorrow becomes a pathway towards faith, drawing individuals closer to their Creator and fostering profound spiritual growth. Moreover, the significance of community and mutual support among believers cannot be overlooked. In a world where many suffer in silence, seeking the companionship of those who share similar beliefs can serve as a powerful reminder of Allah’s presence. Just as prayer strengthens the bond between the individual and Allah, collective prayer and support foster a sense of unity and shared understanding within the community. This reinforces the belief that no one is truly alone in their struggles, and that together, with faith, patience, and prayer, individuals can navigate the challenges of life. In summary, the teachings of the Quran on Allah’s knowledge of human suffering and His divine support provide profound insights into the human experience. Through the verses of Surah Al-Muzzammil, Surah Al-Baqarah, and Surah Al-An'am, believers are reminded of Allah’s omniscience and compassion. They encourage individuals to seek solace in patience and prayer, recognizing that their hidden sorrows are not concealed from God. As we navigate the ups and downs of life, these teachings inspire trust in Allah’s plan and reinforce the importance of community, empathy, and resilience. Thus, in moments of despair, we find strength in the knowledge that Allah is ever-present, aware, and supportive, guiding us through the darkness towards the light of faith.
Indeed, your Lord knows that you stand [in prayer] almost two-thirds of the night and occasionally half of it and occasionally a third of it, and [so do] a party of those with you.
O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.
And He it is who takes your souls by night and knows what you have earned by day. Then He revives you therein that a term must be established. Then to Him will be your return; then He will inform you of what you used to do.
One day, a man was sitting in the market, and sorrow was evident on his face. His friends asked him about the reason for his worry. With tears in his eyes, the man replied, 'No one knows what I’m going through.' At that moment, a religious scholar approached him and said, 'Console yourself! God is aware of everything in your heart. He sees the patience and perseverance of His servant and is by his side.' Upon hearing these words, the man's heart was calmed, realizing he was never alone.
