Thinking about God's attributes is considered a form of worship and helps individuals gain a deeper understanding of God.
In the Holy Quran, worship is defined as obedience and submission to God and getting to know Him. One of the most important ways to become acquainted with God is to reflect on His attributes. In fact, contemplating the attributes of God helps a person gain a deeper understanding of Him and draws one closer to Him. Allah states in Surah Al-Imran, verse 191, 'Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth are signs for those of understanding, who remember Allah while standing or sitting or [lying] on their sides and give thought to the creation of the heavens and the earth, [saying], 'Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You above such a thing.' This verse implies that thinking about creation and God's attributes is indeed a form of worship. Furthermore, in Surah Al-Mu'minun, verse 115, it is stated, 'Did you think that We created you uselessly and that to Us you would not be returned?' This verse emphasizes that human life is created with a grand purpose, and reflecting on divine matters is of enormous significance. Overall, contemplating God’s attributes intertwines with understanding and worshiping Him, leading one to the depths of faith and piety. Thinking about God’s attributes prevents a person from fallacies and erroneous thoughts and guides them towards the right path.
