The best type of charity is one performed with sincerity and pure intention, regardless of circumstances.
In the Holy Quran, giving charity and spending is one of the most important religious and social duties that significantly impacts personal development and collective well-being. The best type of charity is described in Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 177, where Allah states: 'Those who spend in ease and in hardship and who restrain anger and who pardon the people; and Allah loves the doers of good.' This verse emphasizes that giving should occur in any circumstance, whether in times of ease or difficulty. Furthermore, charity must be done with sincerity and pure intentions. Additionally, spending on one's relatives and family is considered more virtuous since in Surah An-Nisa, verse 36, Allah points to the significance of doing good to parents, relatives, orphans, and the needy. The act of charity should reflect a person's pure and sincere intentions and must be performed with the aim of pleasing Allah. Ultimately, the best charity is the one performed wholeheartedly and sincerely, bringing peace and joy not only to others but also to oneself.
Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but [true] righteousness is in one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the Angels, the Book, and the Prophets and gives his wealth, in spite of his love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves; and establishes prayer and gives zakah; and those who fulfill their promise when they promise; and [those who are] patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous.
And do good to parents, relatives, orphans, the needy, and speak to people good [words] and establish prayer and give zakah. And if you turn away, then indeed Allah intends to afflict them with some of what they have earned.
Once upon a time, there was a man named Hasan who lived in a small neighborhood. He always wondered how he could help others. One day, he decided to donate part of his savings to orphans and the needy. He did this with a sincere heart and at the time they needed it. After a while, Hasan saw a group of orphans passing by his street with smiles on their faces. He felt a deep sense of joy and satisfaction and realized that charitable giving with pure intention not only makes others happy but also brings peace to himself.
