Through worshiping God, kindness to others, and serving the community, we can be useful individuals.
In the Holy Quran, the concept of being productive and useful is clearly articulated. To be a useful person, the first step is to worship and acknowledge the Oneness of God. In Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 21, Allah instructs the people to worship their Lord, which is the starting point for being beneficial. Furthermore, in Surah Al-Mu'minun, verses 1 to 11, the qualities of the believers are laid down, which make them essential in both their lives and the lives of others. For instance, verse 9 mentions 'And those who are steadfast in their prayer,' exemplifying the importance of prayer and connection with God. Additionally, being kind to others and expressing good behavior is crucial, as seen in Surah An-Nisa, verse 36, which emphasizes kindness to parents, relatives, orphans, and the needy. Helping others, serving the community, and committing to social responsibility are more ways to be useful. Humans exist together to build a better society and can collaborate on this path. Ultimately, the Quran reminds us that doing good and beneficial deeds serves not only oneself but the entire community. Therefore, through worshiping God, establishing good relations with others, and serving the community, we can indeed be valuable individuals.
O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous.
And those who are [diligent] in their prayer.
It is they who are truly believers. For them are degrees [of honor] with their Lord and forgiveness and a noble provision.
One day, a man named Hassan went to the market and, during his shopping, met a captivating old man. The elder, with his soft words and beautiful speech, urged Hassan to help the youth of his community and to teach them ways to be useful. Moved by these words, Hassan decided to assist others whenever possible, even if it was just with a kind word. Over time, not only did Hassan change himself, but he also influenced others, becoming a useful person.
