How can one trust in God's promises?

Trusting in God's promises as conveyed in the Holy Quran is a fundamental principle of faith in God. The divine promises reflect His boundless mercy and power bestowed upon His servants. In Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 186, Allah promises to respond to the prayers and requests of believers: "And when My servants ask you concerning Me, indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me..." This indicates that God is not only committed to His promises but also assuredly and promptly responds to the supplications of His servants. Additionally, in Surah Al-Imran, verse 9, it is stated that God has made great promises to those who believe and do righteous deeds: "Indeed, Allah has promised those who believe and do righteous deeds [that] for them is forgiveness and great reward." These verses remind us that faith and righteous deeds are the foundations of trusting in God's promises. Moreover, the lives of prophets and the saints throughout history demonstrate how they relied on God's promises and remained committed to Him through difficulties and challenges. For instance, Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) was saved from the fire of Nimrod by trusting in God's promise, and this kind of trust has served as a model not only for him but for all believers. Thus, by having faith in God's promises and adhering to His commandments, we can enhance our trust in divine assurances.
