By recalling the verses of the Quran, we can avoid unfair judgment. Self-awareness and fairness in self-assessment are key.
In the Holy Quran, the issue of self-assessment and judgment is significant. To avoid unfair self-judgment, we must first remember that Allah is aware of our actions, and nothing is hidden from Him. In Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 286, Allah reminds the believers that every individual is only accountable for their capacity and that no one bears the burden of another's sin. This teaches us that we should not compare ourselves to others. Furthermore, in Surah Al-Hujurat, verse 12, Allah warns us against negative assumptions and hasty judgments, teaching us to act honestly and fairly toward ourselves and others. By following these teachings, we can develop a more just and fair self-assessment. Additionally, enhancing self-awareness and controlling emotions can help avoid unfair judgments. For instance, when facing failure, we should not tell ourselves that we have no worth; instead, we should affirm ourselves for the lessons learned and focus on the future. By practicing these skills and applying Quranic teachings, we can achieve more positive intentions and healthier attitudes towards ourselves.
Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear.
O you who have believed, avoid much [negative] assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin.
One day, Ali was looking at himself and felt that he was failing in life. But when he paid attention to the verses of the Quran, he realized that everyone is tested according to their capabilities. He decided instead of harshly judging himself, to focus on his strengths and learn from every failure. This change in perspective helped him feel better.
