How can we treat others with respect?

Respecting others is achieved by treating them kindly and listening to their opinions. Respectful behavior strengthens social relationships.

Quranic Answer

In the Holy Quran, treating others with respect is of paramount importance. Allah instructs Muslims in Surah An-Nisa, verse 36, to do good to their parents, relatives, orphans, and the needy, and to treat neighbors and friends with respect. This verse exemplifies the significance of upholding the rights of others and engaging everyone in the community with kindness. Moreover, in Surah Al-Hujurat, verse 13, Allah emphasizes the need for people to respect their differences and diversity and not to judge one another but to cooperate and assist each other instead. In essence, respecting others is not only a moral duty but also fosters positive relationships and helps establish a healthy community. When we treat others with respect, we create an environment for constructive and positive interactions. Likewise, in Surah Aal-E-Imran, verse 159, the importance of consultation with one another is highlighted. In daily life, this can manifest as listening to others' opinions and expressing our viewpoints in a friendly and respectful manner. Therefore, treating others respectfully is one of our fundamental religious principles and should be consistently maintained in our lives.
