One should deal with unethical people with kindness and patience, avoiding negative reactions.
Dealing with unethical individuals is a social challenge that many people face in their daily lives. The Holy Quran emphasizes good character and kindness towards others in all situations. In Surah Fussilat, verse 34, it states, 'And not equal are the good deed and the bad. Repel [evil] by that deed which is best.' This implies that goodness and badness are not the same, and we should respond to bad behavior with good deeds. This verse teaches us that when faced with unethical individuals, we should not react in the same manner. Instead, we should strive to act with honesty and kindness. Therefore, rather than responding to anger or criticizing their actions, we can reply with patience, forbearance, and by upholding our moral conduct. Additionally, in Surah Al-Imran, verse 133, we read, 'And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden as wide as the heavens and the earth, prepared for the righteous.' This signifies that ultimately, seeking God's approval and behaving righteously is crucial. In this context, reminding ourselves of these principles can help foster peace and comfort in social environments. Moreover, surrounding ourselves with people who possess strong will and good ethics can further assist us in resisting the influence of undesirable behavior.
And not equal are the good deed and the bad. Repel [evil] by that deed which is best.
And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden as wide as the heavens and the earth, prepared for the righteous.
On a hot summer day, Morteza met a friend named Vahid who was deeply upset by the unethical actions of some people in his workplace. Vahid was worried and asked how he could deal with these individuals. Morteza reminded him that the Quran provides extensive guidance in this area. He mentioned a verse from Surah Fussilat and reminded Vahid that he should respond to bad behavior with goodness and patience. This conversation made Vahid reflect, and he decided to respond to these individuals with kindness rather than anger. This change in perspective allowed Vahid to feel better in his work environment.
