Allah states in Surah Al-Imran, verse 191, 'Do they not reflect upon the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of night and day?' This verse reminds humans to observe their surroundings and learn from the signs of God. Furthermore, in verse 26 of Surah Muhammad, God asks, 'Do they not reflect on the Quran?' This question clearly demonstrates the Quran's call for contemplation. In fact, this call to thought implies encouraging individuals to seek truth and comprehend the workings of God. Reflection not only guides a person to deeper insight about life and its purpose but also helps them view their daily experiences from a fresh perspective and eventually leads to spiritual growth and upliftment. Moreover, the Quran mentions that 'many signs of God's presence exist in creation and within humans, and only the wise can truly appreciate these signs.' Thus, contemplation plays a fundamental role in understanding the Quran and Islamic theology.
