Worship without intention holds no value, and a correct intention is a prerequisite for its acceptance.
Worship without intention is not considered valuable. The Holy Quran emphasizes the importance of intention and the inner aspects of deeds. In Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 225, Allah states: "Allah knows what the breasts conceal." This indicates that God is aware of what lies in the hearts of individuals. It is essential for a person's intention in their worship and actions to be clear and sincerely directed towards Him. A correct intention leads to the acceptance of worship, bringing a person closer to perfection. Furthermore, in a saying of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), it is stated: "Actions are judged by intentions," which means that deeds are determined by their intentions. If the intention behind an act is not right, then the act itself becomes worthless. Worship that is performed merely for show or to attract others' attention lacks the essence of true worship, and thus, holds no value. Therefore, to avoid hypocrisy and attain divine pleasure, one's intentions in worship must be pure and directed solely towards Allah.
Allah knows what the breasts conceal.
Those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah and do not follow up their giving with reminders of their generosity or with injury will have their reward with their Lord, and there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.
One day, a man named Hossein decided to worship God. He went to the mosque and prayed, but afterward, he pondered whether his intention was pure. He resolved to worship solely for God's pleasure and not for others. After some time, he felt a profound sense of peace and realized that his worship was filled with meaning.
