To make goodness a habit, purify your intention for God and start with small acts. Over time, these actions will become part of your life.
Goodness is emphasized in the Quran as one of the most important characteristics and acts of worship. To make goodness a habit, you must first purify your intention and remember that doing good is solely for the pleasure of Allah. In Surah Al-Mu’minun, verse 96, Allah instructs the believers, saying: ‘And continue in good deeds and acts of kindness.’ This verse highlights the importance of persistence in goodness. You can start with small acts, gradually gaining skill in them. For instance, perform one good deed daily, such as helping others, being kind to family, or speaking softly to those around you. Over time, these good actions become integrated into your life. Additionally, engaging in the remembrance of Allah and praying for the ability to do good can assist you. Surah Al-Imran, verse 133 emphasizes that the repentant and those who do good will be forgiven their sins. This verse encourages turning towards goodness and abandoning evil. Moreover, in Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 177, believers are informed that goodness is not only in worship and revering Allah but also reflected in every aspect of life and interaction with others. Ultimately, maintaining relationships with people who practice goodness will support your journey.
And continue in good deeds and acts of kindness.
And race towards forgiveness from your Lord and a garden whose width is like the width of the heavens and the earth.
Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but righteousness is in one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the Angels, the Book, and the Prophets, and gives his wealth, in spite of his love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves.
Once upon a time, there was a kind-hearted man named Rustam, who always thought about doing good for others. One day, he came across an elderly man in need of help. Rustam helped him without hesitation, and this act of kindness brought him a joy he had never felt before. He continued to do so regularly, and helping others became an innate part of his daily routine.
