To purify your intention, you must intend that your goal for every act of worship is solely to please Allah and seek His assistance.
In the Holy Quran, the concept of pure and sincere intention is outlined as one of the foundational principles of worship and Islamic ethics. In Surah Al-Bayyina, verse 5, Allah states that the duty of the believers is to worship Him and purify their religion for His sake. This means that every action we perform should be with a pure intention seeking Allah’s pleasure, rather than for the sake of people or other motivations. Furthermore, in Surah Aal-E-Imran, verse 19, Allah says, 'Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam,' which indicates that any Islamic act must be based on a sincere intention. To purify your intention, you need to focus on a few points: First, before performing any act of worship, make a pact with yourself that your goal is solely to please Allah. Secondly, seek Allah's help to guide you on this path and purify your intentions. Thirdly, against the inclinations of your ego, if you feel that your intention is being influenced by worldly matters, be cautious and remember Allah. Lastly, rely on Allah in your prayers and openly express your intentions sincerely to Him. It can be said that purifying your intention requires continuous awareness of Allah's presence in your life and persistence in prayer and piety.
And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion.
Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam.
