To have a pure heart, one must stay away from sins and negative thoughts and constantly engage in prayer and connection with God.
In the Holy Quran, the importance of having a pure and clean heart is emphasized through spiritual and moral purity. In Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 88, it states: 'And they say, ‘Our hearts are wrapped.’ This teaches us that our hearts should be free from the dust of sin and negative thoughts. Furthermore, in Surah Al-Imran, verse 169, it is promised to the believers that those who are slain in the way of Allah are indeed alive and nourished by their Lord. This verse reminds us that having a pure heart also involves being mindful of the afterlife and engaging in righteous deeds. Another way to attain a pure heart is through prayer and maintaining a relationship with Allah. As mentioned in Surah Al-Mu’minun, verse 1, 'Successful indeed are the believers, who are humble in their prayers.' Thus, through prayer and connecting with God, one can find peace away from worldly worries. Additionally, acting with good morals and treating others kindly is crucial for having a pure heart. In Surah Al-Furqan, verse 63, Allah describes His servants and highlights their good character: 'And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth humbly.' Therefore, according to the verses of the Quran, one can have a pure heart only through obedience to Allah, prayer, ethical behavior, and kindness towards others.
And they said, 'Our hearts are wrapped.' Rather, they have not tasted the sweetness of faith.
And do not think of those who have been killed in the way of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision.
Certainly will the believers have succeeded.
One day, a young man named Jacob, while in the garden of friendship, said to his friends with a melodious voice: 'How wonderful it would be to cleanse our hearts of hatred and jealousy.' His friends, listening to him, praised the virtues of goodness and pure intentions. From that day forward, Jacob and his friends decided to engage in prayers more often and show each other kindness to ensure their hearts remained always pure and clean.
