To instill the light of faith in adolescents, it is crucial to show love for God and create emotional connections with them.
Instilling faith in the hearts of adolescents is essential for shaping their character and behavior. In the Holy Quran, there are principles that can guide us in helping to cultivate the light of faith in young hearts. One of these principles is the love and affection towards Allah. In Surah Al-Imran, verse 31, Allah states: 'Say, if you love Allah, then follow me so that Allah may love you.' This verse indicates that if we guide the youth towards divine love and familiarize them with the love of God, they will naturally be drawn to faith. Furthermore, we need to teach adolescents about the significance of prayer and its benefits. Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 45 mentions: 'And seek help through patience and prayer.' This reminds us that prayer can serve as a manifestation of communication with God and strengthen faith. By encouraging adolescents to establish this connection, we can deepen their faith. Addressing their emotional and psychological needs is also a crucial part of this process. As adolescents navigate a world filled with challenges and pressures, we must listen to them and empathize with their struggles. This care and attention create an environment where young people feel safe and comfortable. Ultimately, as parents and mentors, we must embody good role models. Our actions should align with the principles of faith to guide them towards a deeper understanding of belief.
Say, 'If you love Allah, then follow me, so Allah will love you.'
And seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.
One day, a teenager named Sajjad was wandering in the park. He was in search of worldly attractions but recalled his mother's words saying, 'Your foundation should be based on love for Allah.' Intrigued, he decided to pay attention to matters of faith. He began visiting mosques for conversations with believers and experienced a sense of peace in his heart. Gradually, his faith strengthened and he became grateful to God for everything.
