How can we mend our relationship with God?

Establishing a connection with God through prayer, seeking forgiveness, and performing good deeds can strengthen our relationship with Him.

Quranic Answer

Mending our relationship with God is an ongoing process that requires continuous effort and attention. In the Holy Quran, it is mentioned that the closest way to God is through prayer and seeking forgiveness. In Surah Al-Mu’min, verse 60, Allah says: "And your Lord says, 'Call upon Me; I will respond to you.' This verse reminds us to ask Allah for guidance and to seek His closeness. Additionally, in Surah At-Tawbah, verse 104, Allah instructs His servants not to despair of His mercy: "Do they not know that Allah accepts repentance from His servants...?" Another way to strengthen our connection with God is by performing good deeds and being kind to others. The Quran clearly states that doing good to God's creation is always pleasing to Him. In Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 177, it states: "Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but [true] righteousness is in one who believes in Allah…" Thus, maintaining a constant relationship with God through prayer, seeking forgiveness, and doing good deeds can significantly strengthen this connection.
