Giving hope to others is one of our crucial duties as Muslims, and we should remind each other that Allah always provides His mercy.
In the Holy Quran, the concepts of hope and God’s mercy are expressed as one of the most important aspects of the believers' faith. In Surah Az-Zumar, verse 53, Allah promises His servants to have hope in His mercy, as He forgives all sins. This verse lights a spark of hope in the hearts of believers, reminding them never to despair of Allah’s mercy. Similarly, in Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 286, it is stated that Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity. This indicates that in times of hardship and challenges, Allah is with us and we have the capability to overcome any challenge we face. When we see someone struggling with their challenges, we can remind them that Allah will be by their side and that they have His support and mercy. In essence, giving hope to others is part of our duty as Muslims. We should help each other to strengthen positivity through the verses of the Quran and the teachings of the Prophet. Mentioning the Quranic verses and stories of prophets, such as the story of Prophet Yusuf and his patience, can be inspiring and uplifting. When we give hope to others, we are actually reminding them of Allah’s mercy and encouraging them to remember that there is always light in darkness.
O My servants who have believed, fear your Lord. For those who do good in this world is good, and the earth of Allah is spacious. Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account.
Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or made a mistake. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.
One day, a young man named Saman approached a religious scholar with a heavy heart full of sorrow and despair. He said, "My life is filled with problems and I have no hope." The scholar smiled and said, "Remember, even in the darkest nights, a dawn will come. Look at the verses of the Quran; one says that no one should despair of His mercy. Hope and Allah's mercy are always there; one just needs to seek it." With these words, Saman regained his spirit and resolved to move toward hope.
