The Quran emphasizes compassion towards animals and advocates for kindness and respect.
The Holy Quran refers to the compassion and care for God's creatures, including animals. This sacred book emphasizes the importance of kindness and empathy toward all beings. One verse that mentions this is Surah Al-An'am, Ayah 38, which indicates that all beings, not just humans, are under God's watchful eye. This shows that Allah has a comprehensive and inclusive view of all His creations. Additionally, Surah An-Nahl, Ayah 8, discusses the creation of animals, reminding us that every creature has a specific role in life and that we should treat them with compassion. The prophetic traditions also affirm the necessity of being kind to animals; the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) often highlighted the importance of mercy toward animals and other creatures. There are even narrations where a woman was chastised by God for her cruelty to a cat. Thus, it can be concluded that both the Quran and the traditions of the Prophet (PBUH) strongly advocate for compassion toward animals and respectful behavior toward them. This compassion is not only a sign of our humanity but also leads to divine pleasure.
And indeed, among the cattle are signs [for the wise]. And they are under your Lord's control.
And the cattle He created for you; in them is warmth and [numerous] benefits, and from them you eat.
Once upon a time, there was a man named Hassan who lived in a small village. Hassan loved animals and every day he would go to the forest to play with the birds and rabbits. He always looked at them with compassion and love, knowing that all creatures deserve affection. One day on his way home, he saw a bird that had been severely injured. Out of deep compassion, he brought the bird home and cared for it until it recovered. Hassan knew that the Quran emphasizes compassion towards animals and his act brought not only joy to his spirit but also Divine favor.
