Breaking the hearts of God's servants is an inappropriate and sinful act, as it emphasizes the importance of respect and love towards one another.
In the Holy Quran and Islamic teachings, respect for others and avoiding harm to them is strongly emphasized. In several verses, Allah teaches the believers to treat each other with kindness and to avoid breaking each other's hearts. For instance, in Surah Al-Hujurat, verse 11, Allah states, 'O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people,' clearly emphasizing the importance of respect and love towards one another. Additionally, in Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 177, the qualities of true believers are described, including kindness and honesty in interactions with others. Therefore, if breaking someone's heart means harming their feelings and spirit, it certainly would be considered a wrongful and sinful act. Islam places a great emphasis on kindness, empathy, and love for others. It is also worth noting that whenever someone’s heart is broken, they may remember God and His mercy, which can heal broken hearts. Nonetheless, insisting on breaking the hearts of others, who are also servants of God, is generally an inappropriate and unacceptable act in Islamic ethics.
O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after [one's] faith. And whoever does not repent - then it is those who are the wrongdoers.
Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but [true] righteousness is in one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the Angels, the Book, and the Prophets and gives his wealth, in spite of his love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves; and [those who] establish prayer and give zakah and [those who] fulfill their promise when they promise; and [those who] are patient in poverty and hardship and at the time of battle. It is those who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous.
Once upon a time, two friends named Amir and Saman were sitting together and discussing friendship and love. Amir told Saman, 'Friendship means preserving each other's hearts, not breaking them.' Saman thoughtfully replied, 'Exactly, wherever we go, we must always be mindful of other people's feelings. After all, each of us are servants of God in some way, and we should promote love.' This conversation led them to decide to always keep kindness in their lives and to avoid breaking each other's hearts.
