The Holy Quran does not specifically mention gambling games such as poker. However, gambling is generally regarded as a sinful act in Islam. In Surah Al-Ma'idah, verse 90, Allah says to the believers: "O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing on] stone alters [to other than Allah], and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful." This verse indicates that gambling, like poker, is considered an undesirable and forbidden act in Islam, as it promotes discord and social conflict and diverts individuals from the right path in life. Moreover, Islam emphasizes transparency and justice in transactions, and gambling inherently carries a sense of waste and impurity. Many narrations also state that winning from gambling is essentially winning from the wealth of others, which is contrary to principles of justice and fairness. Thus, it can be concluded that gambling games such as poker are frowned upon not only from the perspective of the Quran but also from an ethical standpoint.
