The Quran severely condemns suspicion and negative assumptions, urging believers to maintain a good opinion and positive thinking.
In the Quran, suspicion and negative assumptions are strongly condemned, and believers are guided towards positive thinking and good opinion. In Surah Al-Hujurat, verse 12, Allah says: 'O you who have believed, avoid much [negative] assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy or backbite each other.' This verse clearly indicates that individuals should not have suspicion towards one another and should strive to maintain a good opinion. Suspicion not only harms social relations but also affects the individual's morale. Furthermore, in Surah Al-Anfal, verse 59, Allah instructs: 'And let not those who disbelieve suppose that the message of Allah is a cause of delay for them.' This highlights that believers should think positively and maintain kindness in their hearts. Therefore, it can be said that the Quran encourages a society free from suspicion and promotes a pursuit of blessings and peace through good opinion.
O you who have believed, avoid much [negative] assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy or backbite each other.
And let not those who disbelieve suppose that the message of Allah is a cause of delay for them. Indeed, We give them respite only that they may increase in sin.
