Heartlessness can stem from distance from God and a lack of sense of responsibility.
In the Holy Quran, concepts such as conscience, piety, and responsibility towards others are mentioned multiple times. People who seem heartless often lose their connection with God and Islamic teachings. In Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 143, Allah emphasizes that believers should follow their faith and fill their hearts with piety and mercy. This indicates that when people distance themselves from piety and faith, they may exhibit inhumane behaviors. In other words, being heartless can be a sign of weakened faith and departure from moral principles. Additionally, in Surah At-Tawbah, verse 67, it says, 'The hypocrites are not good,' which shows that those who perform their actions with insincerity gradually lose their sense of humanity and conscience. These individuals often prioritize personal gains and lack empathy towards others. The Quran emphasizes that if people draw closer to God and make piety their life principle, they will have a better ability to express their humanity and conscience. Thus, heartlessness can be examined from two aspects: one is the distance from God and religious teachings, and the other is the lack of responsibility towards others. Therefore, it is essential to strive to learn from within that conscience and human feelings should be placed at the highest priority.
And thus We have made you a just nation that you will be witnesses over the people and the Messenger will be a witness over you. And We did not make the qiblah which you used to face except to make evident who would follow the Messenger and who would turn back on his heels. And indeed, it was great except for those whom Allah guided. And Allah would not make your faith lose; indeed Allah is Subtle and Merciful to the people.
And the hypocrites are not good.
One day, a man sat by the river, looking at the water. He thought about how successful his life had been but how heartless and unfeeling he felt inside. He decided to pray and ask God to grant him a sense of humanity and love for others. Hours later, he saw a child fall into the water and rushed to save him. That day, he learned that humanity and conscience make life more beautiful.
