Why should we enjoy solitude with God?

Solitude with God is an opportunity for reflection, prayer, and close connection with Him.

Quranic Answer

In Islam, solitude with God is regarded as an opportunity for deep reflection, prayer, and a close relationship with Him. The Quran instructs believers to turn to God especially in times of challenges and difficulties. In Surah Adh-Dhariyat, verse 56, we read: 'And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.' This verse reminds us that the primary purpose of life is worship and connection with God. Solitude with God is one of the best times for contemplation about God's existence, His mercy, and seeking forgiveness for sins. When we are alone, our minds are free, allowing us to pray and supplicate sincerely. In these moments, our souls find peace, and we can feel that God is closer to us. Moreover, solitude helps us escape the noise of daily life and grants us the chance to ponder on reasons that might be forgotten in our daily busyness. We must remember that in this solitude, we can experience the most profound feelings towards God and maintain a pure heart and calm spirit.
