Does God consider ordinary people special?

From a divine perspective, and based on the teachings of the Holy Quran, the concept of a human being being 'special' transcends the worldly definitions and criteria we often use to categorize individuals. Almighty God inherently views every human being as special, regardless of their social status, wealth, race, or fame, and bestows upon them dignity and value. This inherent dignity is a divine gift granted to all children of Adam, not just to specific individuals or elites. The Quran clearly emphasizes that the creation of humanity is purposeful and magnificent, and every individual is created in the utmost grandeur and beauty. The Holy Quran states in Surah At-Tin, verse 4: "Certainly We created man in the best of stature." This verse clearly indicates that the creation of every human being is an example of perfection and beauty. This 'best of stature' is not limited to physical form but encompasses the talents, abilities, intellect, free will, and divine nature embedded within every human. Each individual possesses infinite potential for growth, perfection, and attaining closeness to God, and this potential is what makes them unique and special in the eyes of their Creator. Furthermore, in Surah Al-Isra, verse 70, Allah says: "And We have certainly honored the children of Adam and carried them on the land and sea and provided for them of the good things and preferred them over much of what We have created, with [definite] preference." This verse establishes the inherent dignity and honor of humanity as a universal and fundamental principle. This dignity signifies the right to life, freedom, and mutual respect, bestowed upon all human beings by the Creator. Every human, regardless of their standing in society or their accomplishments, carries this divine dignity and should not be humiliated or disrespected. God introduces Himself with the names "Ar-Rahman" (The All-Merciful) and "Ar-Rahim" (The Especially Merciful), which signify His vast and boundless mercy that encompasses all beings, including all humans. Divine mercy includes guidance, sustenance, and the opportunity for forgiveness and repentance, all of which are granted to all people, whether believers or non-believers, whether 'special' or 'ordinary.' This mercy indicates that no human is hidden from God's grace and favor, and all are subject to His attention and kindness. While God has created all humans with dignity, He has set the criterion for superiority and closeness to Him not in lineage or status, nor in wealth or power, but in piety and righteousness. Surah Al-Hujurat, verse 13 states: "O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted." This verse expresses the fundamental equality of humans in creation and shows that the measure of evaluation and superiority in God's sight is solely based on good deeds, good character, and the degree of worship and righteousness. This means that an 'ordinary' person in society, if they possess divine piety, can be more esteemed and honorable in the sight of God than many seemingly 'special' or powerful individuals. Every person, regardless of their worldly status, can attain a high position in the sight of God through their actions, which itself demonstrates God's valuing of inner potential and individual choices. God has created every human with a unique soul, specific intellectual and volitional faculties, and individual responsibilities. No two humans are exactly alike, and each individual has a unique place and role in creation. God is closer to man than his jugular vein and is aware of all his thoughts, intentions, and actions. This complete knowledge and close connection indicate that no human is 'ordinary' or insignificant in His sight. He hears every prayer, accepts every repentance, and responds to every need. This one-on-one interaction and absolute knowledge are themselves evidence of the specialness of each individual in His presence. Therefore, from the Quranic perspective, every human, regardless of human criteria for 'ordinariness,' is in truth a special, dignified, purposeful, and valuable creation in the eyes of their Creator. This perspective gives hope and motivation to every individual that through right choices and striving in the path of worship, they can reach the pinnacle of perfection and attain a high status in the sight of God. Human dignity is the most central principle in Islam that gives worth and value to all human beings, irrespective of any worldly classification.
