The Quran guides happiness through the emphasis on gratitude and patience. Additionally, helping others increases personal joy in life.
The Holy Quran, as a comprehensive guide for human life, talks about happiness and the contentment of believers. In its verses, Allah emphasizes the importance of gratitude and satisfaction. In Surah Ibrahim, verse 7, Allah states: "And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed: 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase your favor; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.'" This means that if you show gratitude, your blessings will increase, and this is a reason for happiness and a feeling of satisfaction. Additionally, in Surah Al-Imran, verse 139, Allah states: "And do not weaken or grieve, and you will be superior if you are [true] believers." This encourages individuals to reject fear and sorrow and strive for happiness. The Quran emphasizes that patience and gratitude in the face of life's challenges lead to joy and improvement in one’s mental and emotional state. In this context, the verses also stress philanthropy and helping others, which bring about inner happiness and a sense of belonging to the community. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Quran consistently guides believers to experience joy and happiness in their lives through a closer connection with God.
