In Surah An-Nur, verse 30, Allah commands the men to lower their gaze from looking at those who are not lawful for them, stating: 'Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts.' Furthermore, in verse 31, women are instructed to cover themselves properly and refrain from behaviors that might attract undue attention. These verses highlight that both genders should support one another in maintaining purity and chastity. Practical methods to avoid harmful looks include steering clear of places where one might encounter inappropriate images and engaging one’s mind in positive activities such as sports, reading, or spending time with family. Additionally, prayer and seeking forgiveness can significantly aid us in striving towards purity. Ultimately, strengthening one's faith and connection with Allah can help one stay clear of worldly distractions and lead us on the right path.
Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what they do.
