To keep someone away from sin, one must act well oneself and create a pure and friendly environment.
Keeping someone you love away from sin is a significant responsibility every Muslim should be conscious of. In the Holy Quran, Allah commands believers to avoid sins and engage in righteousness. To help someone stay away from sin, you first need to be a good role model yourself. Following Quranic commands and showcasing good behavior can have a profound impact on others. In Surah Al-Ma'idah, verse 2, Allah says: "O you who have believed, do not violate the rites of Allah or of the sacred month or the offerings or the garlands. And if you are summoned to prayer, then respond to it." This verse highlights the importance of understanding and respecting divine limits and laws. Furthermore, use gentle and friendly methods for advising and guiding them. Along with advice, show your support and love. Back up your conversations with references from the Quran and Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Holding Quran sessions and prayers together can create a suitable environment for developing strong and righteous relationships. In Surah An-Nur, verse 30, Allah commands: "Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision." Moreover, don't forget that prayer is an essential key. Ask Allah to soften that person's heart and guide them on the right path. Finally, try to create a clean and positive environment so that they are less exposed to sins. Thus, by adhering to the Quran and fostering a loving and healthy environment, you can assist in keeping that person away from sin.
O you who have believed, do not violate the rites of Allah or of the sacred month or the offerings or the garlands. And if you are summoned to prayer, then respond to it.
Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what they do.
One day, a young man named Kamran decided to help his friend who had fallen into sin. He recalled the verse from the Quran that said: "Do not approach fornication..." and decided to support him gently and through good advice. Kamran held Quran sessions and in each session tried to invite his friend toward goodness by mentioning constructive themes. After some time, his friend not only stayed away from sin but also became more committed to his faith.
