Faithfulness to one's covenant is a fundamental principle in the lives of human beings and is repeatedly mentioned in the Holy Quran. In Surah Al-Ma'idah, verse 1, God calls upon the believers to fulfill their contracts and covenants: 'O you who have believed, fulfill [all] contracts.' This verse indicates that every believer has a duty to fulfill the promises and contracts made with God and others. Another related verse is in Surah Al-Isra, verse 34, which states: 'And fulfill the covenant. Indeed, the covenant is ever [that about which one will be] questioned.' Here, the importance of honoring one's covenant and the responsibility that comes with every promise is emphasized. Faithfulness to one's covenant, especially concerning relationships with God and other people, particularly parents and relatives, is incredibly significant. On the other hand, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) explicitly stated that breaking promises is a sign of hypocrisy. Therefore, being faithful to one’s covenant is a characteristic that can help us be recognized as steadfast and trustworthy individuals in life. To abide by our covenant, we can strengthen our faith and increase the remembrance of God in our lives, reminding ourselves of our promises, and ensuring that during challenges and difficulties, we do not forsake our sanctities. Moreover, recognizing the importance of the covenant and the need to uphold it can help us fulfill our life's goals and aspirations, stepping along the path of spiritual and moral growth.
O you who have believed, fulfill [all] contracts.

Once upon a time, there was a young man named Mahdi living in a small village. He had a special love for sheep and always promised to take good care of them. One day, however, his sheep got sick, and instead of trying to treat it, he went out to play with his friends. A few days later, when he returned home, he found that his sheep had died. Mahdi was very upset and realized that he had neglected his promise. From that day forward, he decided that every promise he made, he would keep, and he would respect his responsibilities.
