To escape despondency, one must rely on God and seek help from the verses of the Quran.
The Holy Quran clearly addresses the issue of rescuing oneself from despondency and hopelessness. One of the essential keys to this issue is reliance on God and perseverance in obedience to Him. In Surah Al-Imran, verse 139, Allah tells the believers: 'And do not grieve, for you will be the highest', which emphasizes that feeling hopeless and allowing sadness to take hold is unwise, as they are the triumphant ones. This verse illustrates that having faith and trust in Allah can help individuals escape feelings of despondency. Furthermore, in Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 286, Allah states: 'Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear', reminding us that Allah tests each person according to their capacity, indicating that when individuals face challenges and hardships, they should not succumb to despair, but should realize that Allah will not abandon them and will provide assistance. Additionally, in Surah Al-Inshirah, verse 5, Allah asserts: 'For indeed, with hardship comes ease', reiterating the concept of hope and patience, reminding us that despair should not prevail over us. Therefore, the first step in escaping from despondency is to strengthen one’s faith and reliance on Allah. Furthermore, maintaining a continuous relationship with the Quran and recalling its verses can significantly contribute to spiritual tranquility and alleviating feelings of despondency.
And do not grieve, for you will be the highest.
Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear.
For indeed, with hardship comes ease.
Once upon a time in a small town, there was a man named Ahmad who felt a sense of despondency in his life. He saw nothing going according to his wishes and felt distanced from his ambitions. One day, while reading the Quran, he came across the verse that says: 'And do not grieve', reminding him that hopelessness was not a part of life. From that day on, Ahmad decided to overcome his problems and despondency by focusing more on his relationship with God. He prayed daily and hoped for God's assistance. Gradually, Ahmad brought joy and contentment back into his life.
