How to be a good neighbor according to the Quran?

Neighbors should be treated with respect and kindness and supported in times of need.

Quranic Answer

The Holy Quran emphasizes the significance of relationships with neighbors. In Surah An-Nisa, verse 36, Allah instructs us to do good to parents, relatives, orphans, the needy, as well as to neighbors who are near and far. This verse indicates that neighbors should be treated with love and respect, and their rights must be protected. Furthermore, in Surah Al-An'am, verse 151, Allah commands us not to transgress the rights of others and to conduct ourselves justly in social interactions. Good behavior includes safeguarding and respecting the privacy of neighbors, assisting them in times of need, and refraining from causing any harm to them. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also said in a Hadith, "Gabriel continued to advise me about neighbors until I thought he would assign them a share of inheritance." This shows that our neighbors are very close in our lives and deserve special attention. According to the teachings of the Quran, to cultivate a good relationship with our neighbors, we should prioritize kindness, support, and mutual understanding in our daily lives.
