Religious self-esteem is enhanced by recognizing oneself and respecting human dignity.
Religious self-esteem refers to having faith and self-confidence based on religious values. The Quran emphasizes the respect for oneself and the sanctity of human beings significantly. In Surah Al-Ma'idah, verse 32, we read that recognizing human dignity and respect plays an essential role in our self-esteem. This verse states, 'Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely.' This verse illustrates that every human being has intrinsic value and should regard themselves within this framework. Additionally, in Surah Al-Hujurat, verse 13, it states, 'O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another...' This verse reminds us that we are all equal before Allah, and the differences among us should not diminish our self-esteem. To have religious self-esteem, it is essential for you to know who you are and the value you hold. Whenever you feel a sense of low self-esteem, remembering these verses and establishing a connection with God can empower you and remind you that not only are you a human being, but you are also a valuable creation of Allah. Avoiding sin and working towards self-improvement and serving others can also help strengthen religious self-esteem. Remember that your self-esteem increases with a closer relationship with Allah and obedience to His commandments in daily life.

One day, I decided to visit a friend who always uplifts my spirits. When I reached him, he asked why I seemed so worried. I told him that I felt a lack of self-confidence. He calmly said, 'Learn to love yourself and rely on God.' He reminded me of Quranic verses and explained that when you respect your own dignity, you will find yourself stronger. After that day, I paid more attention to myself and tried to establish a better connection with God.
