Hidden sin has consequences not only in this world but will also be punished in the Hereafter.
The Holy Quran explicitly discusses the consequences of sins, whether public or hidden. In Surah Al-Imran, verse 135, Allah says, "And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves, remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins. And who can forgive sins except Allah?" This verse highlights the significance of remembering God and seeking forgiveness during wrongdoing. Furthermore, in Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 81, it states, "Indeed, those who earn sin and their sin has surrounded them – they are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally." This verse emphasizes clearly that sinners will face punishment. Thus, being secretive about sins not only has worldly consequences but will also lead to torment in the Hereafter. Additionally, in other verses such as Surah Al-Ankabut, verse 45, it states, "Indeed, your prayer forbids immoral and wrongdoing acts." This verse indicates that maintaining a relationship with God and performing prayers can prevent the unpleasant consequences of sins. These aspects demonstrate that no sin can remain hidden from God’s sight, and ultimately, it will have consequences.
