A religious lifestyle includes following the principles of religion and establishing a connection with God.
Leading a religious lifestyle means living according to the principles and teachings of the faith. In the Holy Quran, Allah advises believers to follow the tenets of their faith and walk in His path. The first step toward a religious lifestyle is establishing a strong connection with God. In Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 152, it states, 'So remember Me; I will remember you,' emphasizing the importance of remembering God and maintaining continuous communication with Him. The second point is fulfilling obligatory acts such as prayer, fasting, and zakat; these should be at the forefront of a believer’s life. Additionally, in Surah Al-Muzzammil, verse 20, it is mentioned, 'Indeed, your Lord knows that you stand in prayer almost two-thirds of the night,' indicating that God is aware of the devotion and effort believers put in prayer at night. Furthermore, a religious lifestyle encompasses kindness to others and moral behavior as well. In Surah An-Nisa, verse 36, Allah urges people to be good to their parents, relatives, orphans, the needy, and neighbors. This shows that religion is not only inward but also has social effects. By adhering to these principles, one can create a meaningful religious lifestyle that benefits both oneself and the community.
So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me.
Indeed, your Lord knows that you stand in prayer almost two-thirds of the night.
And worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, and to parents, do good.
One day, a man reflecting on his life remembered the Quranic verses emphasizing kindness to parents. He decided that besides connecting with God, he needed to show more love to his parents. After some time, he felt greater peace and his life changed for the better.
